Working on a Small Budget? Simple Decoration Ideas for Your Wedding Venue

Food & Cooking Blog

The success of any event depends on the kind of planning done before the actual day. In the case of a wedding, preparing the reception is crucial. If you are operating on a limited budget, then you need to look for ways to keep the expenses low without having to forego the comfort of your guests. Below are some cheap but inventive ways of decorating your wedding reception:

Cover the Tables with Fabric

You don't have to buy or rent expensive tablecloths for your wedding reception. You can go to your local craft store and buy some colourful fabrics to cover your tables. Ask a friend to help you combine the colours in order to come up with a creative and romantic feel.

Make a Photo Wall

Photos not only help preserve memories, but they are also great conversation starters. You can use family or engagement photos to create a photo wall in your wedding reception. Every guest will want to have a look at the wall and have fun admiring the photos.

Use Christmas Lights

Getting new lights for decoration can be expensive, especially if your venue is big. To lower this cost, you can hang white Christmas lights because they work perfectly for any reception. You can also hang some lights on the trees to illuminate the outdoor space. For an indoor reception, hang the lights around tables, on the ceiling or around the cake.

Use Candles as a Substitute for Flowers

Unlike flowers, candles are more economical because you can buy lots of them at a fair price. Candles bring that romantic feel to any indoor or outdoor space. You can place them on the reception tables if you are considering an evening event.

Hang Some Colourful Balloons

The last thing you want to do is have a reception that looks empty. If you don't have the money to buy some expensive wall hangings, you can use balloons. Hang some bright and colourful balloons around the reception area to fill the empty space. Balloons don't cost much, meaning that you can purchase enough to fill your reception area.

Use Some Ribbons to Decorate the Chairs

Instead of using seat covers, you can tie some ribbons at the back of every chair in a creative pattern. Ribbons are a cheap alternative to expensive seat covers. You will need to consider the right colour combination in order to match the theme of your wedding.
